DRAWDOWN ZONES: CONSERVATION AND MANAGEMENT

A one-day national meeting was held at the Linnean Society in London on 16 June 2010. This sought to provide a forum for researchers and practitioners interested in the ecology of this poorly understood habitat type, providing the first opportunity in the UK to bring together the ecologists and conservation managers working on a variety of taxa, and at a range of sites. It aims were to:

  1. Review the state of existing knowledge on drawdown zone wildlife

  2. Identify gaps in knowledge and develop an agenda for research

  3. Collate best-practice for conservation management

  4. Identify the threats and opportunities created by climate change

  5. Develop ideas for adaptation
